Eating Your Way to an Acne Outbreak

It never ceases to amaze me the number of (so called) professionals that continue to insist that diet and acne are not related. Acne breakouts are the result of your body being overloaded with hormones or toxic chemicals and it’s attempt to get rid of this overload by sending the material out through your skin in sebum oil. How anyone could believe that putting more of these chemicals and hormones into your body won’t affect how your body reacts is beyond me.

Most of us first experience acne during our teenage years. During this time, your hormone production runs wild and your body reacts by sending the excess out through your skin in sebum oil. This is the root of all pimple formation.

Would you agree that, since your hormone level is already too high, do you think it’s smart to add even more? Well, consuming any kind of dairy product does just that. Regular milk, for instance, contains fifty-nine different hormones from the cow and even more hormones from the steroids that were given to the cow to stimulate milk production. One of the main goals of any acne diet is to severely restrict consumption of dairy products.

If your acne follows you into your adult years, the probable cause is a low tolerance for chemicals that are used in processed foods. Your system views these chemicals the same way that it saw the hormones of your youth. It emulsifies the chemicals in sebum and sends it out, starting pimple formation.

Proper diets for acne will stress your need to eliminate processed foods from your diet, removing the cause of excess sebum production.

The simple facts presented here point to a definite link between your diet and acne formation. Just never forget that acne starts on the inside. To get rid of the outer problem (acne), you must help your body regain the internal balance that is the root of your problem.
